Design, manufacture, and installation of a 3200A MSB main panel system for high energy demands at the LongTech Precision factory.
Project Introduction
The project focused on upgrading the main low-voltage distribution system for the factory. With a specialty in precision mechanical manufacturing, LongTech required a panel system capable of high load-bearing, durable operation, and absolute fire safety. Manh Cuong executed everything from design calculations to final installation at the site.
System Role and Function
The MSB main panel acts as the brain of the low-voltage system:
- Receiving power from the transformer and distributing it to the entire workshop.
- Measuring and monitoring actual power consumption parameters.
- Protecting the low-voltage system during overcurrent or ground fault incidents.
Detailed Construction Items
Works performed in the project:
- Calculation and fabrication of 3200A MSB panel enclosures to international standards.
- Installation of air circuit breakers (ACB) and 3200A-rated copper busbar system.
- Connecting power cables from the transformer to the main panel.
- Calibrating measuring equipment and setting protection relays.
Advanced Technical Solutions
Manh Cuong applied silver-plated copper busbar solutions at contact points to reduce contact resistance and heat generation. The panel system was designed in a compartmentalized format (Form 3b) to completely isolate equipment bays, ensuring maximum safety for technicians during operation and maintenance.
Standardized Execution Process
Technical execution process:
- Step 1: Load calculation and selection of suitable switching equipment.
- Step 2: Equipment assembly and busbar connection at the factory.
- Step 3: Transport and positioning of panels in the factory's electrical room.
- Step 4: Connection of input/output cables and bolt torque checks.
- Step 5: Testing the electrical panel with current injection machines and insulation checks.
Project Highlights
Impressive technical results:
- Electrical panel meets IP42 standards, preventing insect and dust ingress.
- Busbar system withstands large short-circuit currents as per design.
- Optimized installation space, resulting in a neat and scientific electrical room.
- Utilized top-tier switching equipment for long-term stability.
